What a fascinating and complex story and woman. No wonder relationships with her were complicated! I know for myself, the older I get, the easier it is to smooth out the rough edges of memory and, at least consider if not exactly embrace, that there was a lot more going on that I wasn't privy to or simply couldn't yet understand. I think that's why this kind of ancestral work is so powerful and necessary. Thanks for sharing Marie with us!
What a glorious finish: "She was a three-dimensional, contradictory character, who can tell her own story and represent herself."
And what a challenge to write a balanced sketch about someone with so many angles. Well done!
I love stories about real people in all their dimensions. "A complex character" indeed! Nice work!
Thank you!

Yes, there’s an element of generational healing to these stories. I hadn’t thought of it that way but I see it now. Thank you for the comment.
I loved this, Victoria. Your aunt certainly sounds like a complicated, intriguing person and you tell the story so well!
Thanks, Jeffrey.
I found your story a compelling read. You did well to introduce us to your relatives and how their various lives interconnected. Well done!
Thank you! There's more coming in May about my father's brother...so stay tuned. :)
Thank you! I worked hard on how to end on the right note. 😁
