Thanks! I spend a lot of time trying to trace the paintings so that's definitely coming up soon. And he didn't really make a living as an artist, although his picture-framing business kept him adjacent to the art world. Then he was able to retire and paint.

I’m not sure about that. I wrote it as more of a counter narrative, which was transparently childish. Of course, it would have been great to find my dad’s art on the wall there! But the scene itself was meant to be an exorcism-- something I could write out instead of living out. To discuss! 😁
