Wow, how cool! I love hearing your process. So cool to collaborate with a friend. And of course, KRISTEN TATE is the best editor! Sorry for the shouting, I could not help myself. KUDOS on finishing the book!

Super fun read. I knew nothing about the original novel or history and your collaboration sounds amazing

Thanks! Having a collaborator makes a huge difference in managing the ups and downs of creative work. It’s been both fun and productive.

So enjoyed "indulging" you -- be sure to sound the trumpet when publication is imminent so we can purchase. I'll check back too!

Also, your website front page for the book is very inviting -- suspenseful image, love the map, and there's a whiff of intrigue about it.

Thanks! I did it myself. And I’ll add a book cover when we have one.

I really enjoyed reading about your fiction project and also enjoyed learning more about Dracula, which I read oh so long ago. Looking forward to reading your book when it comes out!

And I should have said thank you for including my post, but I was distracted by the rest of the essay. Thank you!

Who knew a couple of Victorianists could turn their knowledge of the period into such a lively and engrossing project? I’m happy for you both.

I loved this, Victoria! Great to know more about your Victorian interests and research topics and about your new novel.

Thanks, Jeffrey. It feels uncomfortably like self promotion so I tried to embed the news in some actual literary analysis— 😁

Fascinating to hear more about your process. I think I met Christina about the same time you did. We began working together soon after you two published On The Market. She's an invaluable writing buddy! I read an excerpt of Some Dark Force that Christina sent me, and I love it. Looking forward to reading the whole thing. The research is impressive and fun to read rendered in fiction.
